Chapter 267 Not too far away, a couple of waitstaff hovered, their eyes darting nervously between Sylvia and the scene unfolding before them. Sylvia herself seemed on edge, her movements jittery and unsure.

Rupert paused, his jaw clenched, trying his best to keep his emotions in check.

"It's all good," he said, adjusting his posture to face the sunlight streaming through the skyscraper windows. "Yeah," Sylvia replied softly, touching her lips absentmindedly before inching away, her gaze fixed on a distant point.

The sun was shining brightly, casting a warm and almost stifling heat over everyone...

After a couple of cups of coffee, the noise from the party downstairs started bubbling up.

In the ballroom, Warren and Fiona Carmen were busy greeting guests. They'd almost made it around the room, but there was still no sign of Hilbert.

Warren felt a pang of unease and turned to his mother, Fiona. "Mom, where's Uncle Hilbert? It's such an important day, and he's nowhere to be seen." Fiona, holding a glass of champagne, scanned the room. It struck her that Hilbert hadn't been around since he stepped out earlier.

"Could he have had too much to drink? Letask your Aunt." She approached Mrs. Carmen, but Mrs. Carmen was just as clueless.

Exchanging worried glances, Fiona and Warren decided to look for him after ensuring the guests were entertained.

Just then, Bridget and Bella walked over.

"Mrs. Fiona, Warren, long tno see! Congratulations to the Carmen Group! By the way, where's Mr. Carmen? I wanted to toast him personally. Don't tellhe's still out with Sylvia?" Warren's heart skipped a beat. "Sylvia? Why would my uncle be with Sylvia?" Feigning surprise, Bridget covered her mouth. "You didn't know? Mr. Carmen asked Sylvia to design sjewelry. Apparently, there were sissues, but he promised to help her out." She gave Bella a quick look.

Bella nodded, adding, "Yeah, Mr.

Carmen and Sylvia had lunch $vel together before. Today, he mentioned something abouto waiting for her." Bella, being Eloise's assistant, was considered a reliable source.

Warren and Fiona suddenly recalled Hilbert's reaction when he last saw Sylvia at the restaurant. The pieces started to fall into place.

Before Warren could think of a Creet way t handle the situation, was t and Bella's conversaoverheard by a furious Mrs. Carmen.

In a fit of rage, Mrs. Carmen shattered her glass, not caring about the guests around her.

"That little witch! I'm going to drag her out and teach her a lesson." She stormed out of the ballroom, leaving Warren and Fiona scrambling after her, fearing the worst.

Bridget and Bella exchanged sly smiles. The was just beginning.

Moments later, someone shouted, "Check your phones! The top gossip channel is live-streaming Mrs. Carmen catching them in the act!" The previously disinterested guests perked up, pulling out their phones.

The live stream showed Mrs. Carmen, flanked by her family, charging toward a hotel room. Bella room had discreetly slipped her the Bella number.

As Eloise's assistant, Bella was privy to the room Eloise had booked to corner Sylvia.

Outside the room, Mrs. Carmen took a deep breath, remin, reminding herself to maintain her dignity as she knocked on the door.

But the door remained shut, and the sounds of a heated argument an woman's voice, unmistakably distressed-could be heard from inside.

Mrs. Carmen's patience snapped.

Ignoring Fiona and Warren's m om attempts to hold her back, she ordered her family to kick the door open. Chaos erupted as they burst in, catching the pair in the hallway, unable to even wait for the bed.

The live stream exploded, with viewers climbing to over a million as white-hot chaos filled the screen. Bridget couldn't contain her laughter as the numbers kept climbing.

Sylvia's reputation was doomed; there was no way she'd cout unscathed from this scandal.
