Chapter 204
And then there was the whole idea of talking to Keith. Yeah, right, like those two could have a conversation
without it turning into a full-blown brawl in under a few sentences.
"No need, you're still injured. You should go rest."
She couldn't just let them keep going at it. Taking Finnian by the wrist, Amara guided him back towards the
hospital bed.
Finnian glanced down at her hand on his wrist but didn't pull away. He let her lead him.
"Take a rest, okay? I'll be back in a bit."
She gently pushed him onto the bed, tugging the covers over his legs before turning on her heel towards Keith.
Her voice turned a bit more commanding.
"Cwith me."
Keith lounged on the couch, lazily protesting, "I don't feel like moving."

reluctance.
"What the heck was that just now? Were you trying to start something?"
Amara released him once they were in the stairwell. She huffed, "Don't you think | have enough chaos to deal
with?"
"How could it be? Don't get mad. | was just looking out for you, making sure you weren't getting pushed around."
Keith grinned, reaching over to massage her shoulder. "You've been running yourself ragged. Letgive you a
shoulder rub. | see right through Finnian's games; he's just trying to wind you up."
Amara couldn't help but chuckle at Keith's goofy attempt to smooth things over. He was either all jokes and grins

no wonder he chose to be an actor.
"Alright, alright, don't be mad. | had an event this morning, but when | heard from Elysia that you were here
playing caregiver for Finnian, | was so pissed off, and | ditched it to csee you."
"You didn't miss anything important, did you?" Amara quickly asked. "You should head back this instant."
"Nah, no biggie. It can wait. | told
them to handle the first part without me, and I'll catch up in the afternoon. Won't be a problem," Keith
reassured her, leaning against the wall and throwing an arm around her shoulders.
"See how much | care about you? Running around making sure you're okay, like your problems are my problems.
Why don't we just get together once you're divorced?"
With a cheeky grin and a hint of sincerity, he added. He then watched her closely, maybe a bit nervous about
what she'd say, but Amara was looking at the stairs, not noticing his tension.
"Yeah, right," she scoffed. "I'm not getting involved with you."
"What, you think I'm not in your league?" Keith countered agitatedly, standing up straight and thumping his
chest. "How am | not good for you? I'm handsome, successful, the standing of our families matches, and most
importantly, | treat you nicely."
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmHe rattled off his virtues, earning a playful eye roll from Amara, who was confused about why the sudden
seriousness.
She hardly thought Keith had feelings for her, probably just joking around. Dismissive, she uttered, "Your career's
too successful. If | ended up with you, your fangirls would tearapart. No thanks."
As Amara spoke, she cracked into a smile, giving him a light punch. Keith shrugged it off, about to respond when
suddenly, the stairwell door swung open with a bang.
They both paused, turning to see Finnian standing in the doorway, eyes dark and fixed on them.
