To Amara, blood ties didn't mean much. She had an unreliable father herself, so she knew blood relations were

"Amara, I'm telling you one more time: get rid of this child. Don't keep Finnian's baby. You two are divorced."
What was up with this guy? He was usually so smart. Why couldn't he understand now?
Amara thought about it and figured Keith was just too emotional to think straight. She spoke softly, "Don't be
mad. | know you don't wantto have a hard time. But | just want a child. I'm not planning on getting married
again. Having a child is enough for me."
"Enough!" Keith suddenly shouted.
Amara was startled, her eyes wide as she looked at him. What was going on with this man? He was acting like
he'd lost his mind.
"Keith."
Though her thoughts were jumbled, Amara still wanted to explain things to him. But she only got one word out
before Keith turned and stormed off.
He moved quickly, a storm of anger surrounding him, like a lion who let its prey escape. Amara watched him go,
too shocked to call after him.
"What's wrong with him?"
Amara was baffled. She couldn't make sense of it, even after thinking for a long
time. So, she texted Elysia, summarizing the conversation with Keith.
Then she added, [Is he out of his mind? Why such a big reaction?]
